How chiropractic care works

The goal of chiropractic treatment is to improve the movement of the spine and other joints in order to optimize the exchange of information between the brain and the rest of the body. Limitations or blocks in the functioning of the spine and other joints can negatively influence the communication of information from the nervous system, causing symptoms to occur. Chiropractic care is a treatment method for young and old, used to treat a variety of symptoms. A chiropractor mainly treats back and neck symptoms, but can also help with headaches, pelvis problems during pregnancy, or problems with the shoulder, knee or ankle. Symptoms often occur during sports activities, as much at the recreational level as at the competitive level.

What is chiropractic care

Chiropractic care is a medical discipline that diagnoses, treats and prevents functional problems of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of those problems on the nervous system and general health. The word “chiropractic” originates from Greek and means “to practice with the hands”. Manual treatment techniques are used to remove limitations (also called blocks) from the musculoskeletal system and treat the effects of those limitations on the body, while at the same time improving general health. The holistic approach to the symptoms is incredibly important. A patient’s complete functioning will be assessed through testing, diagnosis, and treatment.
