Neck pain can come in a variety of intensities, from a nagging pain to a sharp stabbing pain. The neck might feel stiff and hurts when you move your head. The pain can start light, but develop over time due to wrong posture and/or stress. However, sudden neck movements or for example a car accident might also cause severe neck pain. Neck pain can come with headaches or dizziness. Neck pain might also radiate down the arm, like nerve root pain.
Migraine and tension headache are most common. Tension headache feels like a dull pain, tightness or pressure around the forehead and/or back of the head. Tension might build up from the neck and shoulder region.
Migraines can manifest in migraine with aura or migraine without aura. Migraine with aura starts with visual and/or sensory disturbances, like flashes of light, before the pain starts. In both manifestations, the intense pain concentrates around one eye or one side of the face. Migraines can cause dizziness, nausea and/or vomiting, and most people experience sensitivity to light and sound.

However a single wrong movement might also cause pain. The pain can come with the feeling of tightness of the chest. The pain can also radiate towards the arms.
Low back pain (lumbago, sciatica or disc herniation)

The pain can develop over time due to wrong posture or stress. However sudden movements or for example a fall might also cause back pain. In case of sciatica or disc herniation the pain can radiate into the leg towards the knee or even the foot, like nerve root pain.
